Job Overview

The Digital Specialist will serve as the primary web editor for daily updates and maintain both NYRA.com and BelmontStakes.com. The Digital Specialist will assist the Senior Social Media Specialist with the management of all NYRA and Belmont Stakes social media channels. The Digital Specialist will assist the Digital Strategist in a support role as production manager for NYRA digital projects and analytics.

Responsibilities

  • Daily editorial publishing updates, site maintenance, and campaign builds for NYRA’s website network, including NYRA.com, BelmontStakes.com, and NYRAInc.com.
  • Daily content updates for NYRA applications and mobile messaging programs, including push notifications, SMS messages, and NYRA XP maintenance.
  • Freedom to create new and maintain existing page layouts NYRA’s web site (NYRA.com) and its affiliated sites (BelmontStakes.com) inclusive of news, photos, videos, race information, special events, and ticket information
  • Participation in regular meetings and planning sessions with web developers, 3rd party vendors, and internal stakeholders to devise and execute NYRA digital marketing projects
  • Provide monitoring and support for NYRA and Belmont Stakes social media channels including: Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, and YouTube.
  • Develop and enhance UX/UI, improve SEO, and develop content marketing and partner strategies across web, mobile, social, and email channels
  • Identify latest multi-platform user engagement trends and implement them on NYRA’s digital platforms as appropriate
  • Monitor, identify, escalate, and respond to customer service inquiries on NYRA social media channels via Salesforce Social Studio in an effort to enhance the fan experience
  • Develop KPIs and performance benchmarks across web and social media properties for NYRA and Belmont Stakes
  • Submit weekly analytics reports and provide actionable insights and trends across Web and mobile platforms including web traffic, special events, and specific campaign results (i.e. sponsor activation)
  • Submit weekly analytics reports and provide actionable insights and trends for NYRA and Belmont Stakes social media channels, including follower growth, user engagement, and top performing posts.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree required.
  • Experience: 2 to 4 year's work experience
  • Experience with CMS Systems, SEO, SEM, basic HTML, Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator
  • Proficiency in Google Analytics

  • Working knowledge of basic web design

  • Working knowledge of basic graphic design

  • Broad knowledge of Social Media system and tools
  • Superior written and verbal communications skills

  • Highly collaborative; great facilitator

  • Self-starter with a strong sense of urgency and close attention to detail

  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects/activities seamlessly within a fast paced setting

  • Ability to work at all three NYRA Tracks, Aqueduct Racetrack, Belmont Park and Saratoga Race Course. Ability to relocate to Saratoga for approximately seven weeks in the summer.
  • Ability to work the racing schedule, including holidays and weekends.
