Job Overview

NYRA is seeking a full-time videographer to shoot new footage, use existing footage, edit and produce content for NYRA TV and corporate platforms. Content will air also air nationally on FS2 and regionally on various sports networks for which NYRA provides over 200 hours of live broadcasting.


  • Responsible for preparing and editing features, promotional packages, interviews, opens, bumps, news stories and b-roll for use on NYRA TV platforms including national and regional broadcasts, simulcasts, apps, Youtube and social media sites.
  • Shoot and edit interviews and press conferences with corporate executives.
  • Ability to set up shoots with camera, mics, lighting and staging.

  • Maintain, transport, set up and operate appropriate equipment.

  • Mix in graphics and effects in post-production and demonstrate quality control for video and audio.

  • Work with producers and talent collaboratively in order to create content for NYRA TV.

  • Work in a live sports environment with the ability to showcase horses racing and training.

  • Communicate with trainers, jockeys, owners and other non-NYRA employees needed for video packages.


  • Education: Associate or Technical degree in a related field is preferred, however a combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • Experience: 2+ years of experience with operating and maintaining video, editing, and graphic design equipment preferred.
  • Must be able to operate ENG TV cameras for interviews and gathering b-roll footage, including sound & lighting setup.

  • Must be proficient with the latest in video editing software, including Adobe products, Avid, and Final Cut.

  • Must be proficient with the latest in graphic design software for TV use, including Adobe products.

  • Must possess a strong understanding of codecs, media file conversion and rendering in different formats.

  • Must be proficient in MPEG 2/4 encryption/MOV, MP4, WMV and H264 file; conversion/Rossete/Flip Factory file conversion and processing, Microsoft office including Word Excel, and Outlook;

  • Knowledge of computer systems and ability to utilize a computer to interface with video equipment.
