  • Job Overview

    The Director, Corporate Partnership will sell and activate corporate partnerships for NYRA facilities (Belmont Park, Saratoga and Aqueduct) and events to support revenue goals for the organization. Supervise internal sales staff as well as outside sales agency as appropriate.

     

    Responsibilities

    The essential functions of the Director, Corporate Partnerships are as follows:

     

    • Sell major corporate sponsorships at NYRA facilities and events (i.e. Belmont Stakes Racing Festival) to support organizational revenue goals, which involves:
    • Research and develop a database of potential sponsors across a wide variety of sponsorship categories
    • Enhance list of sellable assets for the organization inclusive of on-track, digital (web and social channels) and off-track assets/events
    • Manage sponsor lifecycle from cultivation to fulfillment
    • Develop and tailor sales presentations based on sponsor needs and objectives
    • Activate partnerships across various channels (i.e. on-track, digital) through coordination with internal departments (i.e. security, food service, facilities, etc.) to ensure flawless execution and troubleshoot issues as necessary
    • Manage internal staff and external agency relationships responsible for selling and activating corporate partnerships
    • Serve as NYRA liaison with NBC and partner tracks attempting to sell an umbrella Triple Crown sponsorship
    • Monitor competition by gathering current marketplace information on pricing, products, new products, delivery schedules, merchandising techniques, etc.
    • Work with Marketing Director to produce various sales collateral materials (i.e. brochures, videos) to ensure consistency in brand message
    • Recommend changes in products, service, and policy by evaluating results and competitive developments
    • Resolves sponsor complaints by investigating problems; developing solutions; preparing reports; making recommendations to management
    • Supervise a full time staff of three.
    • Performs other duties as instructed.

    Qualifications

    Education (minimum): Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience

     

    Experience: 8-10 years of successful sponsorship sales experience

     

    Other (certifications): Broad understanding of research metrics, knowledge  of horse racing/sports sponsorship preferred.

     

    Availability to work a racing schedule which includes weekends and holidays, and to work on site at all three racetracks: Aqueduct Racetrack, Belmont Park and Saratoga Race Course (travel stipend provided).
