Job Overview

The Marketing Coordinator will support overall operations of the marketing department across digital, television, media, and on-track marketing activity. He/She will focus on developing engaging handicapping, racing, ticketing, and television content with fans through NYRA digital channels, with a primary focus on social media and web properties. This individual will be engaged with horse racing at NYRA tracks, nationally and internationally and preferred to be knowledgeable about horse racing and the online betting industry.

 

The Marketing Coordinator will work across NYRA and NYRA Bets social media channels to promote racing highlights, betting promotions, NYRA analysts’ picks, engaging moments from our TV programs (Saratoga Live and America’s Day at the Races) and ticket sales promotions for Saratoga Race Course, Belmont Park and Aqueduct Racetrack. He/She will be responsible for supporting website operations and coordinating real-time content on NYRA web properties including NYRA.com, BelmontStakes.com and NYRAinc.com for support across the organization.

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Director, Marketing, NYRA General, the Marketing Coordinator will assume the following responsibilities:

 

  • Assist in the development and implementation of daily content across NYRA digital channels focused on official race results, interviews, analyst handicapping picks, best bets and notable wagering/betting opportunities across web and social media channels.
  • Plan, create and publish content that will live directly on NYRA web properties: NYRA.com, BelmontStakes.com and NYRAinc.com.
  • Identify latest social media trends and work with the Senior Manager, Social Media and Content Strategy, Sr. Social Media Specialist, CRM Manager and Digital Marketing Specialist to implement them on social channels as appropriate.
  • Respond to customer concerns and questions and monitor NYRA Bets and NYRA social media channels including but not limited to Facebook and Twitter.
  • Support day-to-day email campaigns via Freshmarketer CRM and maintain email marketing calendar alongside Digital Marketing Specialist.
  • Analyze and present campaign performance on a monthly basis to stakeholders.
  • Work cross-functionally to align marketing and content strategy across the organization working directly with ticket sales, racing office, NYRA Bets, television,public relations and sponsorship teams.
  • Liaise between marketing and creative department building marketing materials and graphics to coincide and support marketing campaigns.
  • Oversee marketing and operational support for NYRA's Free-to-Play Game: NYRA Showdown, including but not limited to scheduling daily games, rewarding prizes and troubleshooting any technical issues with our developer team. 
  • Support both ongoing and ad hoc marketing requests for NYRA’s digital and on-track properties.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • 1 to 2 years of experience.
  • Understanding of social media trends.
  • Experience with Google Analytics is a plus.
  • Copywriting experience is a plus.
  • Microsoft Excel and Powerpoint
  • Ability to work a Tuesday to Saturday schedule, and Wednesday to Sunday during the summer racing season.
